Bachelor's Thesis – Entire Vehicle E/E-Development – Diagnostics

Apr 2025 - Aug 2025

5 months
Developed a tracing algorithm that combines diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from peripheral ECUs with logs from zonal controllers using statistical methods, designed to run on in-vehicle embedded systems.
Built a Java proof of concept to demonstrate feasibility.
When implemented in production, the approach indicates potential for up to 30% data compression, improved encryption and anonymisation, simpler backend processing, and shorter workshop repair time.
The patent is currently pending and an IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology submission is in preparation.
Part-time Software Engineer – Entire Vehicle E/E-Development – Diagnostics

Jan 2025 - Mar 2025

Completed and shipped work started during the prior internship.
Performed vehicle and ECU testing and deployed to production.
Software Engineering Intern – Entire Vehicle E/E-Development – Diagnostics

Sep 2024 - Dec 2024

4 months
Designed and built a test tool for Premium Platform Electric ECUs to validate diagnostic functions in early development phases.
Extended Porsche’s proprietary diagnostic software (PASDT) by adding comprehensive test cases in Java, improving functionality and coverage.
Raised software and hardware quality in the release network through new tests, leading to projected annual savings of EUR 150k.
